Thread Lift

As the aging process begins, your tissue thins because the collagen and elastin fibrers break down. The resulting changes are seen as sagging, deep creases, folds and wrinkles that usually begin to appear in your thirties. In general, the best candidates for the Contour ThreadLiftTM include both men and women in their thirties to sixties. A Contour ThreadLift is a safe and effective procedure that offers subtle, natural-looking results. This technique allows the surgeon to produce a relaxed, refreshed appearance while preserving and enhancing the natural contours of your face. A ThreadLift does not replace a face lift; rather it offers patients an innovative, minimally invasive approach to achieving facelift-like results. A ThreadLift can be used to lift sagging eyebrows, adjust asymmetric brows, reposition sagging cheeks, lift drooping soft tissues of the mid and lower face and smooth out premature skin aging.

Before Surgery

We will evaluate your medical history in order to determine your overall health. Your surgeon will also discuss with you how your face can look and what to expect from surgery. Our objective is to create a natural appearance that is pleasing to you.

We will provide you with preoperative instructions that may include elimination of aspirin and other blood thinners for a couple of weeks before surgery to minimize excess bleeding. Antibiotics may also be prescribed to prevent infection. You will be instructed to shampoo your hair the night before surgery.

Surgery

Most ThreadLifts are performed under IV sedation along with local anesthesia. Small incisions are made within the hairline to place the threads. These are closed with small stitches at the end of the surgery. The procedure usually takes less than an hour unless combined with other procedures.

Postoperative Care

Swelling and bruising are common within the first two weeks after the surgery. Bunching of skin may be noticeable for the first several weeks but will resolve with time. For the first two weeks you will be advised to limit facial movement and expressions. Ice will help improve swelling when used during the first two days. It is also recommended that you sleep with your head elevated during the first week.
