Ronald D. Gaitros, DDS, MS
Dr Gaitros received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating Summa cum Laude. He was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago and did his internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He completed his Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery while concurrently earning a Master's Degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at the University of North Carolina, Dr Gaitros was involved in extensive studies in bone healing, and completed comprehensive research at Kiel, Germany. He is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr Gaitros joined the Carolinas Oral & Facial Surgery Center team in 1991. A moving force in the practice, his commitment to serving the community led him to be instrumental in establishing our Whiteville and Jacksonville offices to meet the needs of Wilmington's neighboring counties.
Dr Gaitros practices a broad scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including wisdom teeth, dental implants and bone grafting, jaw surgery, TMJ, maxillofacial reconstruction and dentoalveolar surgery.
